BuyFood Tuscany Edition 2025

This year, the B2B section at the Palazzo degli Affari brings together 61 certified Tuscan producers – including PDO, PGI, Agriqualità, Organic, Mountain Product, and PAT labels, all selected through a regional call – who meet 50 buyers from 22 countries to establish new business agreements and strengthen existing partnerships.

The event received excellent feedback from both sellers and buyers, with over 650 B2B meetings held in two days and a total of 2,000 tastings of certified Tuscan products.

Workshop

"AgroToscana: Identity, Territories, Markets"

The opening day took place in the evocative setting of the Palazzina Reale at Santa Maria Novella in Florence, hosting the “AgroToscana: Identity, Territories, Markets” workshop with industry experts and representatives of protection consortia.

The Ismea report presented during the session highlights a sector made up of nearly 42,000 agrifood enterprises in Tuscany, 30.4% women-led and 6.8% run by entrepreneurs under 35. Tuscan agrifood exports reached a value of €4 billion in 2024.

Tuscany confirms itself as a leading Italian region for GI registrations, boasting 90 PDO and PGI certifications, including 32 food products and 58 wines.

At the end of the morning session, certificates were awarded to Tuscan consortia celebrating PDO and PGI anniversaries.

Masterclass & Cooking Show

In the afternoon, visitors could browse the exhibition area dedicated to Tuscany’s PDO and PGI products or take part in masterclasses curated by enhancement and protection consortia.

The program also featured the cooking show “Stories of Modern Farmers in the Kitchen” with Chef Gian Piero Fava, organized by Fondazione Sistema Toscana, along with themed corners showcasing regional tourism promotion initiatives and Vetrina Toscana’s food and wine projects.

Press Tour

This year’s press tour, devoted to national food and wine journalists, focused on the traditional productions of the provinces of Pistoia and Lucca.

Key highlights included Brigidini di Lamporecchio, Cialde di Montecatini, Garfagnana Chestnut Flour PDO, Garfagnana Spelt PGI, and Lucca PDO Olive Oil.

Journalists also had the opportunity to visit the renowned Pistoia nursery district, a true excellence of Made in Italy.
