BuyFood Tuscany 2023
On Thursday, October 26 and Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Palazzo degli Affari in Florence, around 68 DOP, IGP, Agriquality, Mountain Products, Organic and PAT-certified producers met over 40 buyers from all over the world in order to make trade agreements.
The thorough supply and demand profiling process took place on the basis of the online catalogue, where 304 products from 17 DOP and IGP denominations were uploaded, with 102 organic products by 25 producers and 66 PAT products by 13 producers.

“Tuscany DOP and IGP: Sustainability from farm to fork”
Speakers at the conference included: Fabio del Bravo, Director of Market Services and Technological Support Department of ISMEA, who detailed the complete report on the IG economy of Tuscany; Roberto Scalacci, Director of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Tuscany Region; Professor Giovanni Belletti of the Department of Economics and Management, University of Florence; and representatives of the DOP and IGP consortia
Anniversary celebrations were also held during the conference to recognize:
- Lamb from Central Italy IGP - 10 years
- Panforte from Siena IGP - 10 years
- Tuscan IGP extra virgin olive oil - 25 years
- White beef of the Central Apennines IGP - 25 years
The press present at the event took part in several in-depth masterclasses on individual local products organized by the consortia, discovering their origins, history and development.
The masterclasses were organized in small groups and took place in restaurants that form part of the Vetrina Toscana circuit, led by journalists from ASET - Associazione Enogastroagroalimentare della Toscana (Tuscany Food and Wine Association), a partner of the event.
The event then continued with a two-day press tour dedicated to the national and international specialized press to discover the places where the renowned Chestnuts of Monte Amiata IGP, the delicate Seggiano DOP olive oil, and one of the most awarded cheeses in the world, Pecorino Toscano DOP, are produced.
